Travel smart this festive season

Planning to travel during the festive season? Here are some of the things you need to know. First, be cautious of your security and aware of terrorist attacks in the region that have taken a toll on people’s lives besides the COVID-19 pandemic.

Uganda so far has experienced four bomb blasts in 2021 alone since the 2010 bomb blast in Kampala. Authorities have issued out a number of alert warnings on the situation. The terror attacks are now indiscriminate, taking place in frequented areas by travelers and expatriates.

A note to self; COVID-19 related entry requirements may change without warning, be prepared for any outcome. All passengers must present a negative COVID-19 test result taken within 72 hours of departure. Passengers traveling during curfew hours will be permitted on presentation of a valid air ticket.

Register and prepay early on Uganda’s online registration system. Lock-down measures remain in place, avoid political gatherings, demonstrations or military sites. Keep in mind that anything political in demonstrations can take a violent turn, keep off that road.
