Uganda’s Adam Seiko Signs with Golden State Warriors

For five years, Adam Seiko and Nathan Mensah were teammates at San Diego State.

Next week, they could play against each other.

Seiko signed a summer league contract with the Golden State Warriors, who are scheduled to play Mensah and the Charlotte Hornets in the two-day California Classic Summer League in Sacramento on July 5.

Both Golden State and Charlotte are also participating in the larger Las Vegas Summer League that starts July 7. They’re not scheduled to play each other in group play but could meet later in the event that runs through July 17 at UNLV’s Thomas & Mack Center and adjacent Cox Pavilion.

Seiko is the all-time winningest player in SDSU (120 victories) and Mountain West (65) history, although, because of the pandemic, he was in school for six years and played five. He averaged 5.8 points but shot 45.8 percent behind the 3-point arc, which makes him a good fit for a Warriors organization that values the 3-ball. He would have ranked second in Division I (behind the 48.2 percent by New Orleans guard Jordan Johnson) if he had enough attempts.
