Onduparaka Appoints New Coach After Poor Season Performance

Steven Bogere has been appointed the new head coach of Onduparaka FC as the team moves to redeem itself after a poor season performance in the Start times Uganda premier league.

Godfrey Drabe, the Media and Public Relations Officer for the club told Uganda Radio Network that Bogere has joined the Caterpillars on a one-year contract. He added that the appointment takes immediate effect.

The former Uganda Cranes midfielder is expected to work alongside Hamza Kalanzi who has been in charge of the team on an interim basis following the departure of Haruna Mawa. His immediate task will be a trip to St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende on Wednesday to face defending champions Vipers.

Meanwhile, Kennedy Dramani, the head of corporate fans at the club welcomes Bogere’s appointment as timely and notes that he expects the new coach to fix the gaps in the technical bench which was exhibited in their recent clash with Arua Hill Sports Club.

Onduparka FC currently sits at the bottom of the table with only two points and is on the verge of being relegated.

Bogere previously served as head coach for SC Villa and the now-defunct SC Victoria United and Kansai Plascon as well as UPDF FC, which he guided to promotion back to the top flight in 2019. He equally coached in the Airtel Masaza Cup and won the 2016 title while in charge of Buddu.
