MTN Uganda rewards Olympic athletes
MTN Uganda has celebrated Ugandan Olympic athletes by rewarding the entire team together with their coaches and administrators for participating in the just concluded 2020 Olympics that took place in Tokyo, Japan.

Somdev Sen, the Chief Marketing Officer congratulated the Olympians, adding that they had rewards for all of them in appreciation of their outstanding performance that earned Uganda 4 medals.
A total of 17 athletes, 5 coaches and 3 administrators who made up the Uganda athletics team in the Olympics have been rewarded with a sum of UGX 175,500,000 Ugx.
The sum includes UGX 50,000,000Ugx each to Joshua Cheptege and Peruth Chemutai for winning gold medals in the 5000m and 3000m Steeple Chase races respectively.
Joshua Cheptegei will get another UGX 25,000,000Ugx for the silver medal he bagged in the 10000m race while Jacob Kiplimo gets UGX 10,000,000 for his bronze medal in the same race.

“The rewards are not only in appreciation of the individuals exploits but also a celebration of the coming of age of the sport that MTN has supported over the years, through the Uganda Athletics Federation.” Somdev Sen said.
MTN Uganda has sponsored various recognized athletics programs, the most recent one being the MTN Kampala Marathon.
