BUL FC Defeats Maroons FC 5-0

BUL FC, have defeated Maroons FC 5-0 in the UPL match at the Njeru-based FUFA technical center on Wednesday.

BUL FC’s first goal was scored by Martin Aprem in the 34th, minute of the game.  Ronald Otti scored the second in the 45th, minute, Ivan Wani netted the third goal in the 67th, minute, Ibrahim Kazindula earned the fourth in the 69th, minute, whereas, Hillary Onek sealed off their win with a fifth goal in the 78th, minute. 

The win puts BUL FC in the second position on the UPL table standings, closely behind table leaders, KCCA FC.

BUL FC’s head coach, Alex Isabirye, says that they kicked off the season with hopes of topping the UPL table throughout the first round however, they were edged by their close competitors, KCCA.

“After topping the UPL league tables throughout the first five games, we were hopeful of maintaining the lead throughout the first round, however, we suffered setbacks, which created room for our close competitors to step up,” he says.

Isabirye argues that, much as his squad comprises young players, he will not buy new ones, but rather boost them with ample skills, required in enabling them to win all their games in the second round.

Maroons’ assistant coach, Simon Ojok says that they kicked off the first round with a winning spirit, however, several players have been suffering from endless injuries, which in turn affects the effectiveness of the squad.

Ojok adds that the technical team will closely monitor the individual players’ abilities to foster squad effectiveness during the second round.
