UNEB to release 2020 UACE results this Friday
The Ministry of Education and Sports has announced that it is set to release the 2020 Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education ( UACE ) examinations this Friday August 20, 2021.
According to the Ministry of Education and Sports spokesperson, Patrick Muinda, the Uganda National Education Board (UNEB) will brief the Education Minister, Janet Kataha Museveni, about the results on Wednesday regarding the performance of students ahead of the release of the results.
“UNEB will brief the Minister on Wednesday and the examinations will be released on Friday under strict observance of the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs),” Muinda said.
According to UNEB, a total of 98,393 students sat for UACE examinations in April, 2020.
The release of the results will be presided over by the Minister of Education, Janet Museveni at State House, Entebbe. She will be assisted by the UNEB team led by the chairperson of the Board, Professor Mary Okwakol and the UNEB executive director, Mr Dan Odongo.
This will be the last batch of the national examination results to be released after the Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) and the Uganda Certificate of Examinations (UCE) results that were released last month.
In accordance to the standard operating procedures, successful candidates will not be able to gather at the schools for merry making as it was in the previous results release.
The school administrators will also not be able to access hard copies instantly due to the restrictions on movement and gatherings.
According to Muinda, UNEB will instead inform the district, municipal and inspectors of schools to collect hard copies of the results from UNEB on a yet to be confirmed date.
