UBL’s Juliana Kaggwa elected vice-chairperson of Uganda Alcohol Industry Association

Uganda Breweries Limited’s Juliana Kaggwa has been elected as the new vice-chairperson of the Uganda Alcohol Industry Association (UAIA).

Kaggwa, whose election was announced during the association’s Annual General Meeting at Kati Kati Restaurant is now taking over from Manish Kalla of Grays Uganda.

Nile Breweries Limited’s Onapito Ekomoloit has retained his position as chairperson and Srinivasa Reddy of Premier Distillers remained the association’s treasurer.

Other committed members include John Magara of Beedee Eff, Baghavendra Reddy Ganesh of Blue Nile Distillers, G.Uwa Maheshwar Reddy of Hema Beverages, and Ms. Harinath Reddy of King Albert Distillers.

UAIA is an umbrella body that brings together registered and regulated producers of adult beverages in Uganda.

The association was formed in 2006 to align the interests of the manufacturers and promote the responsible consumption of alcoholic beverages.

Juliana Kaggwa is currently the Corporate Relations Director at UBL. She joined the company in 2004 as a graduate trainee and has risen through the ranks in different positions from production, finance, sales and marketing.

Juliana went to St Mt.St.Mary’s Namagunga for her secondary education, Makerere University for her Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, and Technology and Edinburgh University for her Master’s in Business Administration.
