Following repeated reports of accidents involving Link Buses across the county, the Ministry of Works and Transport has suspended operations of the bus company for a period of two weeks.
The announcement was made by the Transport Minister, Gen Katumba Wamala. “In the meantime, we have suspended the operations of link buses for a period of two weeks as we are carrying out an assessment of all his fleet plus the drivers to identify if there is something wrong with the fleet management,” he said
On Wednesday, a bus belonging to Link Services was involved in an accident killing 20 people and injuring many.
The bus company has pledged to support the accident victims.
