Speaker Oulanyah is Now in A Good State—Anita Among
Speaker of Parliament Jacob Oulanyah has spoken out for the first time since it was reported that he had fallen sick and unable to talk. On Thursday, Oulanyah posted on his Twitter account, thanking the public for the prayers being sent through.
“Fellow Ugandans, My deepest appreciation for your well-wishes and prayers. I wish you God’s blessings.
The Speaker was flown out on February 4. He is currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital in the United States of America.
Earlier on there had been falsehoods being run around that Oulanyah had terribly worsened, only for the Deputy speaker Anita Among to come out to debunk them. Anita said the speaker was responding well to treatment.
“Fellow Countrymen and Women, Our leader and brother the Rt Hon. Jacob Oulanyah is receiving treatment as recommended by the doctors. Disregard the falsehoods making rounds on social media about his health”Anita said last week.
On Thursday she gave an update about his health saying that he had spoken to some MPs.
“I would like to inform the country that Speaker Jacob Oulanyah is now in a very good state. He has been able to speak to many MPs and we thank God for that,” Among said.
