NUP lawyers fail to trace blogger Lumbuye in Turkey
Uganda’s Shadow Foreign Minister and also representative of Kyadondo East in the 11th parliament, Lawyer Nkunyingi Muwada earlier disclosed that Turkey security authorities have no records concerning the arrest of Turkey-based Ugandan blogger, government critic, and activist Fred Kajjubi Lumbuye.
Lawyer Nkunyingi together with Counsel Wameli Anthony were dispatched to Turkey by the National Unity Platform party to establish more details about the reported arrest of Lumbuye, an activist who supports NUP.
“A detailed search in the system established Lumbuye has never been received by the Foreigners Detention Centre. As well that no Ugandan has been registered in the centre for the last Weeks.” a Facebook post shared by Muwada reads.

“The search for Lumbuye and his Freedom is a public but not a private pearch. All our efforts are voluntary. We shall keep the public posted with reality in our knowledge and when we establish so with evidence. Please bear with us in consuming the hard facts” Muwada revealed.
“We engaged an additional team of highly skilled Turkish lawyers this afternoon headed by Advocate Adnan Sahin in the Search and Complimenting the existing team.” He added.
During a press briefing held earlier this week at Uganda Media Centre, Uganda Police revealed that they did not have Lumbuye in their custody but they (Police) have already prepared 15 case files against him.
Lumbuye is on the list of bloggers wanted by police.
