Maj Gen Don Nabasa appointed new commander of Military Police
President Yoweri Museveni who is also the Commander in Chief of the UPDF armed forces has appointed Maj. Gen. Don Nabasa as the new commander of military police.
Maj Gen Nabasa has been a contingent commander in Somalia under AMISOM for about a year now.
His appointment comes when the country is beginning to experience domestic terrorism attacks.
Prior to being sent to Somalia, Nabasa served as the commander of the Special Forces Command ( SFC), a specialized component of UPDF tasked with carrying out special missions in support of national military objectives.
He was later sent for a one-year training course at the National Defence College in China and after completing the training in August last year, he was sent to Somalia to take over from Brig. Richard Otto as the Contingent Commander of the Uganda troops serving under the AMISOM.
Maj Gen Nabasa will now be replaced by Brig Keith Katungi as the Contingent Commander in Somalia.
