The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health, Dr. Diana Atwine observed that Madudu Sub County has a high population of about 100,000 and that combined with other areas, it qualifies to be a Health Center III which is an upgrade from the current Health Center II.
She explained that the delay to upgrade Mududu to Health Center III was due to budget constraints which are being addressed.
On the complaint about insufficient beds, Dr. Atwine said that an assessment would be done for the ministry to provide the required number of beds. She also castigated people who elude security checks to cross from Kassanda to get taxis in Mityana insisting that the lockdown was instituted to save people from contracting the sickness.
