Singer Geosteady flies to Mecca for Umrah
Singer George Kigozi alias Geosteady who early this year converted to Islam and changed his name to Hassan on Thursday flew out to Mecca for Umrah.
The ‘Viola’ hitmaker expressed his excitement on his social media accounts and thanked Hajji Ibrahim Makubuya, CEO Hebra International and Thurayya Safaris for sponsoring his trip.
“This is what I call “Katonda Yabadde mweno ensonga” Thanks Allah @welitravel@thurayyaislammedia. Special thanks to Hajji Ibrahim Mukubuya of Hebra International,” he posted.
Geosteady joins the list of fellow male singers like Hajji Haruna Mubiru and Eddy Kenzo that have made the journey to Mecca.
Umrah is a holy Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca, the holiest city in the Islamic faith located in the Hejazi region of Saudi Arabia.
Umrah can be undertaken at any time of the year in contrast to Hajji which is performed only at a specific time.
This pilgrimage offers an opportunity for Muslims to refresh their faith, seek forgiveness for their sins to be cleansed and pray for their needs.
