Sheebah Karungi Launches Own Record Label, Karma Music

To celebrate the 12 years she has been in the entertainment industry, singer Sheebah Karungi has now lauched her own record label, Karma Music.

Sheebah wrote on X previous known as twitter that, “It’s about that time I mentor my own artists! Yassss! Your Queen officially owns a music label.”

The Nkwata bulungi further unveiled a talent search that’s designed to discover and uplift emerging talents in the industry. At a press conference held in Kampala, Sheebah revealed that the label has secured notable figures like Naava Grey, Fik Fameica, Chosen Becky, and producer Artin Pro, who will be the judges on the talent search.

With a record label, Sheebah becomes the first female artist to establish such a milestone.

“I’m the first female [artiste] to own a music record label [in Uganda],” Sheebah said in a video seen by Mazima on several social media platforms.

Sheebah Karungi is well known to have been at the frontline in helping others especially when it comes to women empowerment and mentoring young musicians in the industry.

The reknown singer left Team No Sleep (TNS) in 2021 that was managed and owned by Jeff Kiwanuka under unclear circumstances. However, rumors suggested that her departure was due to Kiwanuka’s lack of time and attention as a manager following his involvement in the real estate business.

The launch of Sheebah Karungi’s record label comes ahead of a battle between her and singer Cindy. The show is slated to take place on September 15, 2023, at Kololo Independence Grounds.
