Miss Tourism Uganda finale set for this Saturday

The crowning of this year’s Miss Tourism Uganda is set to take place this Saturday at Kampala Serena Hotel after months of traversing the country in search of potential contestants.

Miss Tourism 2021/22 was launched on 1st June this year at the Uganda Museum under the theme, “African Pride.”

The pageant will be handled scientifically for the second time due to the ban on social gatherings and events ever since the outbreak of Coronavirus.

Last year’s winner Sonia Komugisha is expected to hand over the crown to the lucky winner who will emerge from the 27 contestants that have been selected from different parts of the country. With 3 beauty queens representing different regions, only 5 will be chosen to represent the country at the National level and to also become Uganda’s Tourism Ambassadors. These will consist of the overall winner, Miss Tourism Uganda 2021/22, the 1st runner up, 2nd runner up, Miss popularity and Miss Heritage.

Miss Tourism Uganda pageant was started by the late Hon Maria Mutagamba.

Sponsors and partners of this year’s Miss Tourism Uganda include the Ministry of Tourism, Uganda Wildlife Authority, ACTNIM, Uganda Wildlife and Antiques, Ice Tours and Travel, Parliament of Uganda, Darling among others. The stage, lights and sounds will be provided and produced by Fenon Events.
