Controversial blogger Isma Olaxess released on bail
Controversial blogger Ibrahim Tusubira popularly known as Isma Olaxess has been released on a cash bail of UGX 1m by the Buganda Road Magistrate Court on Wednesday afternoon.
On Monday, the blogger was interrogated and detained at Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Kibuli and appeared before court today on charges of intent to incite violence over certain statements he made on his social media page.
Immediately after his release, Isma shared the good news to his followers and thanked them for standing by him.
“I will always praise the name of Allah tandekerera nga ko, guys I have been released on court bail cash one million. Special thanks to everyone who stood up with me in spiritual, financial,& physical,” he posted.
On November 17, 2021, the motor-mouthed blogger took to his known Facebook page, “ Jajja Ichuli” to praise terrorists responsible for the twin blasts in Kampala on November 16, urging them to commit more atrocities targeting Christian churches and inside Parliament next time.
Isma’s statements were a reaction to his alleged anger against police for always arresting Muslim suspects in cases of terror attacks in the country which he believes is intended to tarnish the Islam religion.
Even though he came after to apologise for his careless statements, the Uganda Bloggers Association was forced to ask him to step down as their president.
Isma also had his brand Ambassadorial contract with Home Connect Properties Uganda Limited terminated.
