Police Investigates Fire Outbreak at Kisakye Nursery and Primary School

Fire reduced pupils’ property to ashes at Kisakye Nursery and Primary School in Kakeka zone Mengo parish in Rubaga division in Kampala district.

The Kampala Police Metropolitan Spokesperson, Patrick Onyango, says that the fire broke out around 10:40 am on Thursday.

“It’s alleged that the headmaster was in his office when he heard the children who were in class shouting fire in the boy’s dormitory,” he said.

According to Onyango, the fire is believed to have started from the boy’s dormitory before spreading to the school’s administration block and the girl’s dormitory.

“All belongings of children were completely burnt,” Onyango said in a statement. He says that officers from the police and fire rescue services were called in and managed to put out the fire.

“All children were safely removed and nobody got injured. A team of detectives and Scene of Crime Officers are at the scene for crime scene documentation and investigations into the cause of the fire,” said Onyango in a brief statement.
