Senior four candidates in some of the secondary schools in Karamoja were this morning gripped by shock on finding some of the chemicals for exam practicals were missing.
The affected schools including Kaabong Senior Secondary School in Kaabong district, Juble 2000 in Karenga district and Nakapelimoru seed secondary school in Kotido district.
Today, Tuesday, the candidates are doing Chemistry practicals.
Robert Sebuto wuubo the head teacher of Kotido senior secondary school who’s coordinating in north Karamoja districts confirmed one of the chemical reagent was missing but said they have communicated to UNEB for another alternative.
“We are still moving on to other schools check on but what we have got is that Kaabong SS in Kaabong district, Jubilee 2000 in Karenga and Nakapelimoru SS in Kotido are affected but these are the chemicals which were supposed to be at the school laboratories but we have been told to see another available alternative,”he said.
Ryamond Korobe the district education officer Nabilatuk says for them they have not experienced the problem and their candidate’s are doing the practicals.
“We are okay here we have everything,” he said.
Ambrose Onoria the resident district commisioner Kotido said it seems the UNEB team seems to have forgotten to pack the chemicals while delivering the examinations.
