Muhoozi Kainerugaba Returns to Rwanda, Meets President Kagame

The First Son and Commander of the Land Forces in the Uganda People’s Defense Forces, Lt Gen Muhoozi Kaineruga has returned to Rwanda to meet with President Paul Kagame for the second time this year. According to the Uganda High Commission in Kigali, Muhoozi went on a private visit.

He arrived on Monday and was received by Uganda High Commission Staff led by Ms. Anne Katusiime the Charge d’Affaires a.i and two officials from Rwanda Government; Brig. Gen. Willy Rwagasana, the Head of Republican Guard and Col. Ronald Rwivanga, RDF Spokesperson.

He met with President Kagame on and they further discussed Uganda- Rwanda relations. When Muhoozi visited a month or so back, the meeting led to the reopening of the Gatuna border, and trade has since resumed there.

Rwanda and Uganda had for a couple of years been conflicting over a number of issues, including claims by Rwanda that Uganda was harboring and supporting its enemies. Uganda, on the other hand, accused Rwanda for infiltrating its security system with spies.
