UBL scoops two awards at Diageo Global Supply Chain and Procurement Awards
Uganda Breweries Limited has won ‘Brewery of the Year’ and ‘Exellence in Health, Safety and Well-being Award’ at Diageo Global Supply Chain and Procurement Awards 2020/2021 that were held virtually on 17th August 2021.
Mr. Alfred Balikagira, the Supply Chain Director at UBL has embraced the wins by the Brewery and termed them as a demonstration of the capability that has been built within their operations over the years and the great potential that they have within their teams.
“The drive for continuous improvement that is embedded in everything we do has made it possible to achieve these awards. These awards are a further demonstration of ownership by our shop floor team to be able to translate the manufacturing best practices into their day today execution routines with every one walking the talk. It’s this culture of ownership that will ensure we sustain and continue to excel as a business and remain as the market leaders within the industry.” Mr. Balikagira said.
The awards intended to bring together performance and values of Diageo globally, recognize and celebrate the individuals and teams that have delivered outstanding performance throughout the year.
Uganda Breweries Limited is still Uganda’s most awarded brewery, with over 50 Monde Selection medals in gold, silver and bronze categories.
As the company marks 75 years, they dedicate the awards to the resilient staff and consumers that have been with them throughout the 75-year journey that is truly Brewed by Uganda.
They encourage everyone in the supply chain whose work and commitment has helped them win to keep it up and continue helping the Brewery to grow for greater achievements.
